Lots of people neglect their gutters, especially in winter when cleaning them is such an unappealing job. However, this is the time when they will usually need cleaning the most, and it can have some serious consequences for your property. Here are some of the things that can happen when guttering gets blocked:

• It begins to overflow. Over time, this can actually cause damage within cellars, or cause damage to the foundations of your property, because of the constant standing water. It’s much more serious than you might think.
• It can damage parts of the roof. As water stands in the gutter, it can get pushed up against the roof by the debris in the gutter. This will begin to rot parts of the building and cause it to become damaged over time.
• It can attract vermin. If there is a lot of debris in your gutter, this can attract mice, rats and flies.
